14517601_894097600691470_5240464280274383330_nOn Friday 30 September South African Boxing bread new blood. It was the breath of Fresh air as Azinga Fuzile broke Willie Towel’s record of winning the SA title belt with the least fights. Fuzile outpointed the flamboyant Xolisile McBute Sinyabi in a one sided 12 rounds.

The bout was so action packed such that Sinyabi touched the canvas on the 4th and twice in the 12th round. Fuzile (20) went to the ring with only 4 fights as he had a highly decorated amateur career. With only less than 25 Rounds experience many doubted the credibility of his challenge but he silenced the critics with so much ease and in style. Sinyabi was the favourite as he had boxed more than 170 rounds with 18 of his bouts having been title bouts. Fuzile won a unanimous points decision and now improves his record to 5 fights, 0 loss and 2 TKOs.

The curtain raiser bout was a rematch between Sinethemba Bam and Phila Gola. Bam did as he did on their previous bout and won a split decision to be the IBF Youth Junior Featherweight champion. This means that Bam’s record has improved to 9 fights, 0 loss and 3 knockouts. Sinethemba Bam like Fuzile also comes with a very solid amateur record which plays to his advantage when he faces his opponents.

Other bouts: Thembelani Nxoshe beat Mfundo Gwayana by TKO in the 6th round to claim the vacant Sout African Flyweight title. Flyweight Fikile Mlonyeni Won TKO 5 Sonwabo Twatwa, Mini Flyweight Bongile Nyangani Won TKO 3 Xolisa Vukubi, and Aphiwe Myoyo lost points 6 Khumbulani Flint Mdletshe .

The tournament was presented by Xaba Boxing Promotion.
