Kaizer Chiefs are still 6 points clear at the top of the Absa Premiership after failing to beat Platinum Stars at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The match ended in a 0-0 draw. Chiefs created many chances but did not use them properly. Chiefs were playing without Itumeleng Khune who picked his 4th yellow card in a match against Moroka Swallows last weekend. His place was taken by Brilliant Khuzwayo who was playing for the first time for Amakhosi.

Chiefs now have 56 points after 27 games while Platinum Stars, who are at the second position in the log, have 50 points after 27 games. There are three games remaining for both teams. Chiefs came to this game with full confidence to win but things did not go their way. At this point, it is not easy to predict the league champions as all the top 3 teams still stand a good chance to lift the trophy. However, with less than 5 games remaining for all teams, Chiefs are in a much better position to win the league.

Other PSL results this weekend:

  • Chippa United shared points with Ajax Cape Town, United’s goal was scored by Welcome Qalanto and that of Ajax was scored by Mabhuti Khenyeza.
