Karabo Mogane Wins Idols SA 2015

Karabo Mogane has been crowned the winner of the 11th season of Idols SA, which was wrapped up on Sunday at Carnival City.

The 24-year-old walked away with loads of prizes worth R1.2 million, which include R700 000 cash from Mnet and a Ford Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost Titanium. In addition, he will also be getting a recording contract from Universal Music South Africa.

According to The Citizen, Karabo intends to use some of his money to renovate his parents’ house and buy his father a car.

Idols SA saw significant growth in popularity this year. It is reported that a grand total of 79 million votes were cast this season, making it the biggest season so far. Last year’s season, which held the record, had 24.3 million votes.

Karabo is the third black winner of Idols SA, the first two being Khaya Mthethwa and Musa Sukweme, who won the competition in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
