Black Leopards plans of escaping relegation were suppressed when Mamelodi Sundowns smashed them by 5-2 on Tuesday evening at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Nelspruit. Pitso Mosimane’s charges travelled to Nelspruit to battle for nothing but three points as they want to end the season in the top 8 if other results go in their favour.

The Brazilians are now seating in position 10 with 35 points out of 28 matches. Mathematical Mamelodi Sundowns can still end the season in the top 8, but if they get through to the top 8, it is going to be through the hole of a needle.

Meanwhile, the relegation-haunted Black Leopards are at the tail of the log with 23 points out of 28 games. Lidoda Duvha (Black Leopards) find themselves in the position they are in because of the 15 loses they have suffered in the league registering only 5 wins and 8 draws. Black Leopards may find themselves saying goodbye to PSL if Chippa United and Ajax Cape Town obtain maximum points in their remaining encounters.

Mamelodi Sundowns will go all out to obtain three points when they clash against Orlando Pirates on Saturday the 11th of May at 15h00 at Orlando Stadium. Whilst the struggling Black Leopards will also on Wednesday the 15th of May travel to Orlando Stadium to clash with Orlando Pirates who still have hopes of defending the PSL title.
