The race for the PSL title has boiled up. This comes after Platinum Stars closed the point gap between them and log leaders Kaizer Chiefs who suffered a second loss of the season on Wednesday. Ajax Cape Town did themselves and Platinum Stars a favour when they smashed Amakhosi by 3-1 on Wednesday at Cape Town Stadium, thanks to Lebogang Manyama who scored a brace and Mabhudi Khanyeza. Kaizer Chiefs’ only goal was scored by defender, Tefu Mashamaite.  Although the Urban Warriors have dented Kaizer Chiefs’ hopes of lifting the PSL trophy, Amakhosi are still three points ahead of Platinum Stars.

The Glamour Boys are still leading the log with 56 points out of 28 games, and Platinum Stars have closed the gap with three points, as they have 53 points out 28 games after they collected maximum points from the KZN based side, Maritzburg United on Wednesday evening in Polokwane.

Chiefs’ loss didn’t only help Dikwena(Platinum Stars) to close the gap, but it also extended a helping hand to pull Ajax Cape Town out of the relegation zone. The Urban Warriors (Ajax) are now in position 14 of the log with just 27 points out 28 games, moving one bar up out of the relegation zone.  However, they need to win more games to be completely worry-free about being relegated.

If Amakhosi are still serious about winning the last minutes-heated PSL title they must make sure that they obtain maximum points when they clash against SuperSport United on Wednesday the 15th of May at Peter Mokaba Stadium at 19h30.

Meanwhile, Platinum Stars will fight to pull three points when they battle with the Durban based side, Golden Arrows on Saturday the 11th of May at Princess magogo Stadium at 15h00.

The Naturena based side (Kaizer Chiefs) have a busy schedule not only for the PSL games, but also for the Nedbank Cup that is desperately needed by Amakhosi. The Glamour Boys will take a break from the deeply stressing PSL games and focus their attention on Nedbank Cup as they will clash with United FC in the semi-finals on Saturday the 4th of May at 20h15.

Whilst the league contenders who want to grab the title in the last episodes, Platinum Stars will welcome SuperSport United in the same competition on the 8th of May at Royal Bafokeng Stadium at19h30.

It seems like Chiefs started celebrating too early. Dikwena might win the league.
