After twenty years of marriage, the Sexwales are calling it a day. Divorces do not often proceed smoothly and the divorce between Human Settlements Minister Tokyo Sexwale and his wife Judy seems set to follow this unpleasant trend. Judy’s use of explicit and illegal_adult_content has become a factor in the divorce negotiations.

Yahoo News reported that Tokyo Sexwale revealed to close friends that he had found email correspondence between his wife and a security officer. According to reports, Judy and the security officer exchanged illegal adult_content on a regular basis. This offensive correspondence is said to have been found by the minister on one of the family computers.

The marriage contract between the Sexwales states that Judy has a claim to half of the Sexwale wealth which is said to be in the region of R 2 billion. This high value of the settlement amount may be the main reason that this divorce has been anything but smooth so far.

Judy Sexwale is represented by her lawyer, Beverley Clark. They have applied for an interdict against the businessman and politician to prevent him from distributing this material any further. Judy wants her husband to stop making the accusations that he is making. Judy and her lawyer decided that applying for a court interdict was the best response to the blackmail by her husband.

Tokyo is alleged to have confronted his wife with these emails and was going to make them public if she did not accept his terms of the divorce. In a statement read by Clark, Judy denies all the allegations that she created and distributed any type of adult_content. Mrs Sexwale says that the emails were fraudulently created. She asked for access to this evidence as well as the computer that the emails were found on. She would like the opportunity to scrutinise the server in her husband’s office.

As the divorce negotiations continue, Judy would prefer it if she also received written confirmation that she will not be threatened or intimidated by her husband. The country watches with interest as one of its popular ‘power couples’ parts ways in a rather messy fashion.
