Gqom queen Bongekile ‘Babes Wodumo’ Simelane and her kwaito star husband Mandla ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumulo announced the birth of their baby boy on Wednesday, 16 June 2021.
“UNkulunkulu emuhle njalo 🙏🏽♥️ our beautiful blessing is finally here, inhlanhla yethu.!!” the couple posted on Babes Wodumo’s Instagram account. Minutes after announcing the good news, congratulatory messages started pouring in.
The couple jokingly called their boy ‘Sponge’ after Mampintsha’s mother accused Babes Wodumo of wearing a sponge to make herself look pregnant last year. The baby’s real names were later revealed to be Nhlanhla, Enoch and Vusumuzi.
Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha got engaged in October 2020 and tied the knot in April 2021 after many years together as a couple.
