The South African Football Association (SAFA) gave Igesund a mandate to get Bafana to reach the Afcon semi-finals and qualify for the World Cup Finals. Unfortunately, this did not happen, although there was some improvement in the national team’s performance after he took over from Pitso Mosimane. Bafana played the first rounds of the World Cup qualifiers last year under Mosimane’s tutelage. They played two matches, one against Botswana and another against Ethiopia. Both matches ended in a 1 – 1 draw.
In football, if a coach fails to achieve the required results, he is usually axed without mercy and replaced with a new one. It is still unknown if SAFA will let Igesund keep his job. The next important games Bafana will play will be the 2015 Afcon qualifiers which will take place near the end of next year. The 2018 World Cup qualifiers will take place in the middle of 2015. By 2018, many things will have changed, and a number of players currently playing for the national team will have retired.

Our national team has been bewitched. Ethiopia did not beat us. They can celebrate but they know it. They wouldn't have won. We lost due to our small mistake.
let the old man keep his job , he proved himself that he can make it if he try , please give the man a second chance to prove himself again.
