Renowned SABC presenter Vuyo Mbuli has died after suffering a heart attack. It is reported that he collapsed on Saturday night at the Free State Stadium while watching a rugby match between the Reds and the Cheetahs. He was then rushed to the Bloemfontein Mediclinic, where he passed away in the early hours of Sunday. His death came five days after his 46th birthday.
Mbuli had become the morning screensaver on SABC 2. He presented Morning Live for 13 years. Clearly, his death will leave a void that will be hard to fill.
Vuyo will also be missed on Twitter. He was a very active Twitter user, tweeting a number of times every day. On Saturday morning he Tweeted: “Watching my son play schoolboy soccer. One of life’s great pleasures”. Never did he know that he would be watching his son for the last time. Mbuli is survived by his wife and two children.
