Bobby Motaung, Kaizer Chiefs team manager, has shut out both Itumeleng Khune and Mandla Masango’s possible returns to the club after the two failed to negotiate deals with the Soweto giants. This comes as both players were set to leave the club after the 2014/2015 league season when their contracts ended. Meanwhile Motaung has told the media that the club is done with the duo, after they had both been given some time to think about the contract renewal talks.

Both Masango and Khune came back with their tails between their legs despite interests from other teams both locally and internationally. Both players are currently free agents and can join any club after a great season at Kaizer Chiefs, which saw them lifting the premiership title. Motaung refused to comment on the matter. “We are not discussing anything. We are done. If you want to know about Khune or Masango’s futures you need to call them. They know their futures,” Motaung said.

This comes after they met and discussed the matter in closed doors. Masango scored seven goals last season and Khune played a pivotal role as well in helping the club win the ABSA premiership title. Another player who has left Naturena along with former coach Stuart Baxter is defender and player of the season for 2014/2015 season, Tefu Mashamaite. Masango reportedly attracted Rennes, a French Ligue 1 side before his manager Walter Mokoena and the club confirmed that the 25-year old will be released.

Itumeleng Khune’s agent Dan Lichman had heard rumours that various clubs are interested in Khune’s services, including internationally. Motaung refused to comment on other issues around the club like the Camaldine Abraw matter and Steve Komphela’s issues with former club Maritzbutg United.
