Three people have been arrested in connection with the killing of a man at Magogoe Tar village near Mmabatho in North West on Wednesday afternoon.

It is alleged that the suspects were part of the mob justice who stoned a man to death after accusing him of raping a 20-year-old woman. They were later arrested in possession of a panga and a knobkerrie. The police suspect that the items could have also been used to commit the murder.

Police spokesperson, Captain Amanda Funani said the three would appear in Mmabatho Magistrate’s Court on Friday. They are expected to face charges of conspiracy to commit murder.

Funani said about 150 people tied a rope around the man’s neck on Wednesday afternoon and stoned him to death.
This follows after a woman claiming to have been raped, pointed him out. “The community members were accusing the victim of being cruel and making people around Magogoe live in fear,” said Funani.

I have no respect for people who take the law in there own hands… Would they like it if one of their children or family members OR THEY were treated like this .. I DON’T THINK SO…YYOU DON’T JUSTIFY A CRIME WITH A CRIME….Whoever takes justice in their own hands are also nothing but a CRIMINAL..In this case all who participated in the stoning ARE MURDERES ..End of story….SHOULD’NT THEY ALSO THEN BE STONED TO DEATH>>>It will be an endless vicious cycle….All going to hell .
