It has been learnt that the BMW X6 which was at the centre of a controversy between murdered Bafana Bafana goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa and his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo has been repossessed.

Senzo Meyiwa who was twenty eight years at the time, was shot and killed on the 26th of October while visiting his girlfriend, singer and actor, Kelly Khumalo at her family home in Vosloorus in Ekurhuleni. According to the information that was released at the time, when Senzo and some friends that were at Kelly’s place, were leaving, two men entered the house and demanded money. During the chaos that ensued, somebody is said to have bumped into the gunman resulting in the gun going off and killing Senzo. Two other shots were fired outside the house as the robbers were making their getaway. Senzo was said to have been carried by friends and neighbours to hospital where he died on arrival.

After the news of Meyiwa’s passing almost brought the nation to a standstill, news emerged of a conflict the family of the deceased and his girlfriend. About the ownership of his two cars and identity documents. Mr Meyiwa had to travel from KwaZulu-Natal, his home area to Gauteng to try and repossess these items. This was a futile attempt initially and the father of the soccer star had to return home without them. It was only later that the Meyiwa family were only able to lay their hands on these items.

On Thursday, the Daily Sun reported that the BMW X6 was repossessed from the KwaZulu-Natal home by the financing company, Aucor Property of Durban. This, according to the daily, is due to the fact that the the family had failed to pay what was due on the car.
