Smanga Kumalo (Mpumalanga) – Another half-naked body of a-20-year old woman was found dumped on the side of the road in her home in Vaalbank, Mpumalanga.

It is believed that Katlego Sekhuru was raped before her body and private parts were mutilated.

According to Acting Communications Officer Amatie Ramasobana at Vaalbank Police Station, the body of Sethuru was in a “shocking” state when it was discovered.

Ramasobana said: “Her throat was cut off, her face and private parts were burnt and she had two wounds on her chest,”.

Sethuru was last seen alive on Sunday morning when she told her cousin, Neo Masheke, that she was going to meet with her boyfriend at a nearby supermarket.

Ramasobane says efforts to track down the suspect (boyfriend) and bring him for questioning have been fruitless. “We have gone to his home countless times to no avail. But the search for him will continue vigorously.” explained Ramasobane.

Sethuru was a Grade 12 student at Manala High School in Allemansdrift “C”. Vaalbank Police are pleading to anyone with any information that would assist in investigations to call 082 338 3737 / 072 777 9044.

Meanwhile: Police have arrested a third man on Friday in connection with the gang rape, murder and mutilation of Anene Booysen (17) of Bredasdorp in Western Cape.

A-23-year-old arrested suspect from the same area, will appear in the Bredasdorp Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Two other men, aged 21 and 22, were already in police custody, facing murder and rape charges. She died in hospital due to extensive injuries. Booysen who was raped and left for dead last Saturday will be buried tomorrow.
