Approximately 900 rhinos will be killed in South Africa in 2013

Rhino poaching continues to rise in South Africa despite the government’s attempts to curb it. It has been reported that a total of 82 rhinos have been killed since the beginning of this year. With only about 20 000 rhinos remaining, the extinction of the South African Rhino is looming. Last year, 668 rhinos were killed, up from 448 in 2011.
