BMW Recalls X5
Smanga Kumalo — BMW South Africa is recalling about 5000-thousand X5 models as part of a world-wide correction for a bolt that could fail and affect the power-assisted steering. A BMW spokesperson has confirmed that South Africa is also affected. About 240-thousand vehicles are affected worldwide and over five thousand locally. Its believed the trouble was discovered in 2011 in Canada. There’ve been no incidents or injuries involving the problem so far.
