After servicing eTV for 15 years, hardcore journalist, executive producer and host of 3rd Degree, Debora Patta says it is enough. According to eTV and its sister company eNCA, the investigative journalism current affairs show 3rd Degree will air for the last time on Tuesday the 14th of May 2013.

However, the reason for Debora’s departure is not yet vivid but the channels revealed on their website that, Debora Patta will be leaving to pursue other interest as a freelancer for international news companies.

Group Head of News, Patrick Conroy said: “After 15 years of service Debora wants to explore other options. We’ve been in discussions about the future of 3rd Degree for several months. In the end she felt she wanted to try something new working as an independent freelancer. We agreed and will now explore a different on-air offering,” said Patrick

Conroy says no final decision has been made about the future of the 3rd Degree programme post award-winning Debora Patta’s departure.

“We’ll take a break for a while and consider our options. There were planned changes in the pipeline anyway,” he said.

Conroy said negotiations are still underway and until they are concluded the channel would be unable to discuss the changes publicly. However management can confirm that Justice Malala’s show The Justice Factor is scheduled to air on both eNCA and e.tv in coming months.

Head of Channels of e.tv, Monde Twala said: “We’d like to thank Debora for her 15 years of service and wish her well with her new business venture,” said Monde Twala.
