GettyImages-472760060.0Juventus have finally reached the final after a hard fought draw with defending champions Real Madrid, plus a first leg 2-1 win over the Spanish Giants. Juventus played it well as they went into the game with the upper hand. They simply defended and waited for Madrid to commit mistakes. Cristiano Ronaldo scored a penalty in the first half after James Rodriguez was brought down by Giorgio Chiellini from a cross by Ronaldo in the 22nd minute.

The goal was cancelled out in the second half by Alvaro Morata’s 57th minute goal from a scramble in the box. The match ended 1-1 but Juventus prevailed over Madrid with a 3-2 aggregate score. Juventus have done the unexpected, sending Madrid packing and making it to the final for the first time in 12 years.

James Rodriguez was literally crying as they were shell-shocked with their plan to overcome the 2-1 deficit not working out as they planned. Madrid have been kicked out of the UEFA champions league and their grip from the league title is slipping out of their grasp. This loss will prove to be Carlo Ancelloti’s departure from the club as it is.

Juventus on the other hand have had a marvellous season. They won the Italian league and now they may be well on their way to a third UEFA champions league trophy. And to think Alvaro Manaro used to play for Real, it becomes a more bitter pill to swallow for the Spanish. Juventus will now face Barcelona in the final of the UEFA Champions league in Berlin.
