Kwaito Legend and TKZee member Tokollo ‘Magesh’ Tshabalala has died at the age of 45 following an epileptic seizure. It is reported that he died at his home in Johannesburg in the morning of Monday, 15 August 2022.

In a statement released by TKZee on Twitter, Tokollo’s family said, “It is with great sadness that the family wishes to confirm the passing of Tokollo ‘Magesh’ Tshabalala. Magesh, as he was affectionately known, passed away this morning as a result of an epileptic seizure.”

It is said that Magesh had not been well for a while now. However, his passing came as a shock to many as the public was generally not aware of his health issues.

Tokollo, together with fellow TKZee members Kabelo Mabalane and Zwai Bala, rose to fame in the late 90s when TKZee released their first album ‘Halloween’, which featured hit tracks ‘Phalafala’, ‘We Love This Place’ and others. In 1998, they released another hit single Shibobo, which was also the title song of their second album. The song, which featured soccer legend Benni McCarthy, went on to become one of TKZee’s greatest hits.
