It seems like Julius Malema’s dream of becoming a farmer has been shattered after his 140 hectare Limpopo farm was auctioned for R2.5 million today.

According to the SABC, the new owner of the farm is Calli Calitz from Vencor Holdings. The Independent Online reported that Calitz’s company owns another farm neighbouring Malema’s property.

Malema’s farm was confiscated in March by the Asset Forfeiture Unit after an investigation revealed that he acquired it fraudulently.

Last month his Sandton mansion was auctioned for R5.9 million to pay a R16 million debt he owes SARS. Since the farm was not legitimately his, it is believed that its money will not be used to pay his SARS debt.

On Thursday next week Malema will appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on charges of fraud, corruption, money laundering, and racketeering.
