On 21 April at around 08h30 pm in South Africa This will be the second time that Zolani Tete puts his WBO Bantamweight title on the line. He will be trading leather with the veteran Argentinian Omar Andres Narvaez (42).

Zolani Tete appears to be the most feared Bantamweight in the planet as none of the other title holders are willing to engage in a unification bout with him. His last defence was a first punch KO win against Siboniso Gonya and that has cemented his status as a fully fledged champion as he was awarded the title while he was on a plane en route to South Africa after he had demolished Arthur Villanueva in an interim title fight.

Tete has become a household name in Great Britain with his public workouts being flooded by many fight fans. He will be fighting his fifth consecutive fight in his home away from home.

The South African public will have the honour of watching the fight on Supersport 5 and it will be repeated the next day on Supersport 9 and throughout the week. This fight will act as a curtain raiser to Nonito Donaire vs carl frampton WBO Featherweight title fight.

If Zolani wins the fight, his record will be 27 wins with only 3 losses that came at a time when he was still boxing in the flyweight division.

Tete’s fight comes at a time when boxing is faced with a dark cloud whereby international boxers of the country have off the ring misfortunes. Last week former 2 time world champion Vetyeka suffered broken legs in a hit and run accident in east London. Tete and Donaire sent a video message to Vetyeka wishing him a speedy recovery.
