Ukhozi FM presenter and Crown Gospel Music Awards (CGMA) Founder Zanele Mbokazi (52) has been diagnosed with lung cancer.
This shocking announcement was made by her husband Bishop Mpendulo Nkambule on Ukhozi FM’s breakfast show on Wednesday morning.
Mbokazi fell in just over two weeks ago. On Sunday, 21 April 2024, while presenting her Gospel show Eshilo, she lost her voice and was unable to finish the show. This left her listeners with unanswered questions.
The following Monday she went to hospital, where, according to her daughter Nonjabulo, she underwent minor surgery for shortness of breath. She has been hospitalized since then.
According to Bishop Nkambule, when Zanele’s illness started, she felt a sharp pain in her upper body. The pain subsided after they prayed for her. She was then taken to hospital for a check-up. Sadly, the doctors discovered that she had lung cancer. The severity of the cancer has not yet been revealed. However, she is said to be recovering well following the surgery.
“As people of God, we trust in Him. [Since the cancer diagnosis was made], our children are in great shock. The family is shocked. Intercessors and friends, everyone is shocked… Under these circumstances we lift our eyes up to the mountains where our help comes from,” Nkambule said before thanking everyone for their prayers and support during this trying time in their lives.
Bishop Nkambule concluded by saying that updates and media statements on his wife’s condition will only be available through Zanele Mbokazi’s social media pages and also through those of the CGMA.
