Millions of people die of cardiovascular disease every year. In 2008, at least 17 million died of this disease (Wikipedia). Scientists have developed a 10,000-RPM pump without a pulse and successfully used it to replace the hearts of three humans and fifty calves, according to Daily Tech. Hopefully this heart will be used in the near future to save the lives of many people who suffer from heart disease.
