Swallows beat Pirates 3-2

Orlando Pirates suffered yet another defeat on Tuesday when they were beaten by Moroka Swallows 3 – 2 in an ABSA Premiership match at the Dobsonville Stadium.

On Saturday Pirates were beaten by Maluti FET College FC 4-1.

On Tuesday, Pirates fans were hoping their team would redeem itself by beating Swallows after scoring an early goal and being awarded a penalty, which gave them a two-goal advantage 37 minutes into the game.

Pirates’ first goal was scored by Sifiso Myeni in the first minute. Their second one was scored by Andile Jali in the 37th minute after they were awarded a penalty.

By this time, fans of the Buccaneers were excited, hoping that their team would go to the top of the log again. However, near the end of the first half Swallows started to turn the tables. Katlego Mashego scored the first goal for Swallows in the 45th minute. Lefa Tsutsulupa scored an equalizer in the 60th minute and then Lerato Chabangu sealed the deal by scoring a winner in the 68th minute.

Pirates missed a chance to go back to the top of the log and are now sitting at the second place with 40 points, 2 points behind their rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
