Simphiwe Mpamile, popularly known as Brown Dash, has allegedly died after an illness that has not yet been disclosed. His fellow artist and friend Brickz confirmed this on uKhozi FM. He said he had been with him in hospital about 30 minutes earlier when he heard the news that he had passed on.
Brown Dash rose to prominence in 2002 when he was featured in Mzekezeke’s hit song “Sguqa ngamadolo”. In 2003 he released an album titled “Puff ‘n Pass”. The track “Puff and Pass” became a major hit and he is most likely to be remembered by it.
His last known major performance was at the 18th South African Music Awards (SAMA) last month. Brickz sent his condolences to Brown’s family and urged the public to respect them and give them time to grieve before asking for more details about his death.
