SABC 2’s Morning Live presenter Vuyo Mbuli died on Sunday morning after suffering a heart attack of Friday.
Renowned SABC presenter Vuyo Mbuli has died after suffering a heart attack. It is reported that he collapsed on Saturday night at the Free State Stadium while watching a rugby match between the Reds and the Cheetahs. He was then rushed to the Bloemfontein Mediclinic, where he passed away in the early hours of Sunday. His death came five days after his 46th birthday.
Mbuli had become the morning screensaver on SABC 2. He presented Morning Live for 13 years. Clearly, his death will leave a void that will be hard to fill.
Vuyo will also be missed on Twitter. He was a very active Twitter user, tweeting a number of times every day. On Saturday morning he Tweeted: “Watching my son play schoolboy soccer. One of life’s great pleasures”. Never did he know that he would be watching his son for the last time. Mbuli is survived by his wife and two children.

I am a 24 year old communication science honors graduate and I have lost a motivator, my inspiration and role model. I owe a lot of my being to Mr Mbuli. From as early as grade 10, he has been shaping my character to the person I am today. He has taught me to be professional, have a positive outlook and a good interpersonal skills. Indeed the world has suffered a great loss. Like he always said, Mintiro ya bulabula, he will forever be remembered for his outstanding work well done. RIP Mr Mbuli.

Words, however kind, can’t mend your heartache but those who care and share your loss wish you comfort and peace of mind.
It will be the little things that you will remember, the quiet moments, the smiles, the laughter.
And although it may seem hard right now, it will be the memories of these little things that help to push away the pain and bring the smiles back again.
