Mame NiangUniversity Of Pretoria (Tuks) striker Mame Niang has put pressure on Kaizer Chiefs’ striker Bernard Parker after scoring two goals against Black Leopards, where the game ended in 3-1 in favour of Tuks. The other goal for Tuks was scored by Bongani Zungu in the first half. Leopards’s goal was scored by Monama.

Bernard Parker is currently the leading goal scorer in the Absa Premiership after scoring two goals when Kaizer Chiefs beat Moroka Swallows 3-1 last weekend. Bernard Parker has scored 12 goals while Mame Niang has scored 10 this season after Saturday’s game.

Mame Niang was also won the man of the match award. Tuks’ Coach Steven Barker said Niang should have scored 5 goals in that match. He also added that he should have scored another two goals to be equal to the leading goal scorer, Parker. “If he had scored 5 goals in this game he would be a top goal scorer so far with 13 goals,” Barker said after the game.

University Of Pretoria is placed at position 6 in the Absa Premiership. There was a moment in the 2nd half where Niang was supposed to be awarded to a penalty after being faulted in the penalty area. However, the referee and his officials did not see that incident. Niang also believed that he should have scored more goals in this match as he said so himself to Deshi when receiving his man of the match award.

In another match on Saturday afternoon, Free States Stars beat AmaZulu FC by 2-1.
