Orlando Pirates have finally won after a streak of six draws, thanks to Sfiso Myeni who had just returned from injury. The Buccaneers took all three pivotal points when they defeated Wits University on Saturday evening at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspriut.

Sfiso Myeni scored the only goal of the game in the dying minutes of referee’s additional time. Roger De sa led his troops into the thrilling clash with nothing in mind except for the victory, which he knew will close the gap between them and the log leaders, Kaizer Chiefs.

The Clever boys who are fighting to finish the league in the top four dominated much of the game but they were unable to find the back of the net. Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa made a handful of saves which could have resulted in Bucs losing the game.

Both Orlando Pirates and Platinum Stars now have 49 points, with Platinum Stars in position two because of their better goal difference. Platinum Stars will on Sunday try to ruin Kaizer Chiefs’ wishes of lifting the PSL title when these two top of the log sides meet in Polokwane at 15h00.
